The XVIII International AIDS Conference ended in Vienna today after a week of intense dialogue involving 19,300 people from 193 countries engaged in the global AIDS response

The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) launched today a new UNAIDS High Level Commission on HIV Prevention, which includes more than 15 world renowned leaders.

Ahead of the XVIII International AIDS Conference to be held in Vienna from 18 – 23 July, UNAIDS has launched its OUTLOOK Report 2010 in Geneva.

Next meeting of the Partnership Forum (PF) will be held on Wednesday, July 7th, 2010 from 10 am till noon at the World Bank (36/1, Bolshaya Molchanovka street, room # 109). It will discuss the topic “Monitoring and Evaluation of HIV-Prevention Programmes: Focus on Effectiveness”.

Through the Vienna Express, AIDS Foundation East-West (AFEW) is shining the spotlight of the world’s leaders, media and public on the HIV epidemic in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. This region, which has faced such unprecedented social and economic upheavals over the past decades, is now struggling to contend with the fastest growing HIV epidemic in the world. 

Kaluga, June 2-3 – The workshop organized by the ILO and UNAIDS brought together delegates from sixteen Russian regions – representatives of the government, trade unions, employers’ organizations and experts of regional AIDS centers.

The world renowned Scottish singer songwriter and women’s activist Annie Lennox has been named as International Goodwill Ambassador for the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).

All Russian Union of PLHIV with the support of UNAIDS, NGOs AIDS Infoshare and Yasen organized the All-Russian event To know, to live. The events were held in Moscow and in all federal districts of Russia.
