The information campaign `HIV is not transmitted through friendship` was established in 2004, after an advertising agency offered 15 billboards for free to place HIV prevention messages on. The Community of People Living with HIV sought UNAIDS support in developing a campaign and raising funds. These billboards were located on a busy highway leading to the `Domodedovo` international airport in Moscow. In an attempt to fight the fear related to HIV, basic information was displayed by using famous paintings and humor. Nine posters were created about the ways HIV is not transmitted. Later a set of postcards and posters with additional information about HIV transmission were created. In 2004, the campaign won the Ministry of Health contest for the best printed HIV prevention materials.
The campaign messages are:
HIV is not Transmitted through friendship
HIV is not Transmitted through using one cup
You CAN NOT get HIV through kissing
You CAN NOT get HIV if we go to school together
You CAN NOT get HIV through a mosquito bite
You CAN NOT get HIV through tears
You CAN NOT get HIV through swimming in one pool
You CAN NOT get HIV through working together

You CAN NOT get HIV through sport
