In the Russian Federation
NATIONAL PARTNERSHIP FORUM ON HIV/AIDS

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Partnership Forum on HIV/AIDS, previously known as the Expanded UN Theme Group on HIV/AIDS,  is an informal consultative group established by UNAIDS in 1999 to encourage improved communication and optimal joint action among interested organizations working on HIV and AIDS.

At present the Forum is comprised of more than 40 organizations, including community groups, non-governmental organizations, service delivery providers, bilateral donors, UN and multilateral agencies.  In the past year, in order to better focus its discussions and allow for greater follow-up between meetings, the Forum has established two subgroups:  1) a Subgroup on HIV, Children and Youth; and , 2) a Subgroup on HIV and Injecting Drug Use.  The subgroups meet in between regularly scheduled Forum meetings to share information and continue discussions on common priorities.   Additional subgroups may be launched in the future.

The Partnership Forum meets quarterly in Moscow, usually at the world Bank (36/1, Bolshaya Molchanovka street). The agendas of recent meetings are available at www.unaids.ru.   Partnership Forum meetings are announced via e-mail and are open to all interested organizations working in the area of HIV and AIDS.  For additional information about the Forum or to sign up for the Partnership Forum’s e-mail notification list please contact Ms.Shakhnoz (Ekaterina) Yusupova at yusupovas@unaids.org
